The Beasts

There are many incredible animals we know about that lived during the Pleistocene Epoch. These beasts include a few familiar names, such as the woolly mammoth and the sabre-tooth cats. But there are more. Many, many more.

This short time of only a few million years was full of unbelievable creatures. More incredible than the dinosaurs themselves! What is even more awesome, is that our ancestors would have actually seen many of these beasts!!

The creatures that lived during this ever changing time were living in all environments from open prairies to frozen tundra. There were giant mammoths living in America, and tiny mammoths living in Crete. These wonderful animals had adapted to the changing world around them, and evolved in some really bizarre ways.

The end of the Pleistocene saw the twilight of these great beasts. After dominating the beautiful luscious landscape for hundreds of thousands of years, many vanished from the world forever. Let us bring you back to a time when carnivorous kangaroos hopped, hyenas roamed the British Isles, and a true King Kong was at home in the bamboo forests of Asia.

Welcome to the incredible world of the Twilight Beasts.

Pleistocene beasts were incredible indeed. In fact I’ve often wondered how our ancestors avoided extinction during this epoch. We’re infinitely punier than sabre-tooth cats or American lions, yet we’re alive and they’re not. Fascinating.

Or, how humans destroyed the beasts.

The Pleistocene was not their twilight.
